YOU! are stayin' alive, stayin' alive

Prompt #17: What song was stuck in your head recently, and what were you doing at the time that made you think of it?

Ah Ah Ah Ah Stayin' Alive, Stayin'Alive....

Today was CPR/ First Aid day in orientation. I learned important stuff, like how the song quoted above really can keep you stayin' alive. How? When you do CPR the rate for compressions a minute is 100 / 1. But how do you know how fast that is? Simple. Just do 30 compressions to the beat of that song! Then do your two breaths, then back to your compressions. Wait, did you all notice that? I said compressions, THEN breaths! Hey, um, Joella, it's A-B-C. Airway...Breaths...Compressions. Who taught you your alphabet? Well ladies and gents, not anymore. It's now C-A-B. Remember that for emergency situations. If you really want all the explanation behind the switch, I'll tell ya, but not here and not now.

So to correctly answer that question, the last song stuck in my head was Stayin Alive by the Bee Gees, and the reason it was stuck in my head is because I was brushing up on my CPR.

That pretty much sums up that question. That wasn't very interesting, nor very long.

  1. You should link that episode of The Office to this blog. Have you seen it? Pretty hysterical. The CPR instructor tries to teach them how to do it, and Dwight ends up going crazy instead....

  2. Oh no! Not another The Office fan. Levi's obsessed. That's why our cat has the middle name Dwight. Hahahaha. (his idea, not mine).
